Artist’s Statement
Through the use of traditionally accessible materials, such as drawing and painting, I am attempting to make non-concretely defined subject. Working in the vein of non-representation affords me the ability to look past a label. Each time you view the work you are forced to redefine or reinterpret it, creating a new moment for perception and memory to forge an experience. Perception is never an absolute truth, the process of making is an example of ongoing subtle impermanence. Our experiences and memories are transitory, thus each moment brings a new perspective of the previous moment. My work is a response to the moment as it transforms to the next, the continuity of thoughts and associations that come together to create a feeling or a moment. My work is an exploration of the limitless expanse of creation. There are unlimited combinations of shape, form, composition, line and color. |
